Construction method:
Surface preparation: The bonding surface must be clean, dry, and free of grease and dust. The sealing adhesion can be improved by wiping SikaHybrid Aktivator (a cleaning activator) on the connection surface or using a suitable primer.
The preparation and treatment of different substrates can be based on the Sika primer table.
For specific applications, you can consult the Technical Services Department of Sika Industries.
Construction: Hard packaging: Pierce the aluminum film on the nozzle.
Flexible packaging: Place the glue on the glue gun and cut off the seal.
Cut off the top of the adhesive nozzle according to the width of the seam. To achieve satisfactory sealing effect, use manual hard tube glue gun, piston pneumatic glue gun or volumetric metering pump to apply glue.
To achieve satisfactory curing conditions, do not apply in environments below 5 ℃ or above 35 ℃. The most suitable temperature range for substrates and adhesives is 15 ℃ to 25 ℃.
For suggestions on selecting and configuring a suitable rubber pump system, as well as technical issues when operating the pump, please contact the Systems Engineering department of the Sika Industry Department.
Processing and trimming: Processing and trimming must be carried out within the surface drying time. We recommend using Sika Tooling Agent N. If using other products, their compatibility must be tested before use.
Cleaning: Uncured Sikaflex-521UV can be removed from tools or equipment using SikaRemover-208 or other suitable solvents. Once cured, it can only be removed by mechanical methods.
Hands and exposed skin should be immediately cleaned with suitable industrial hand sanitizer and water when glued. Do not use solvents.
Surface painting:
Sikaflex-521UV can be used for surface painting after the surface has dried.
The paint must undergo compatibility testing first. It should be understood that the hardness and thickness of the paint layer may weaken the elasticity of the adhesive layer, leading to cracks in the paint layer.
